The article is analyzes the economic causes of civil war in Syria. Usually, these events of «Arabic spring» are interpreted as part of the process of democratization of the Middle East. But the civil war in Syria has distinct energy factor that is often overlooked by the experts and the media. The main initiators of so-called revolution are not only USA and EU, but also Saudi Arabia and Qatar. These countries have obvious «transit» interest related with construction of gas pipeline from Middle East to EU.
