INFRASTRUCTURE AND TECHNOLOGICAL SUPPORT FOR DEPOSIT OPERATIONS WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE DIGITAL RUBLE SYSTEM
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The application of an effective system of deposit operations within the framework of the digital ruble project is considered, taking into account both technological, institutional, and economic aspects. The urgency of this problem is determined by the active development of the digital ruble project by the Bank of Russia and the need to form an effective system of deposit operations in the new conditions. In the context of the introduction of the digital ruble as the third form of national currency, many problems arise related to the organization of deposit operations in the new digital environment: uncertainty in the distribution of functions between the Central Bank and commercial banks when working with digital deposits, the risk of funds outflow from traditional bank deposits to digital ones, uncertainty of the mechanisms for calculating interest on digital deposits and the impact on monetary policy and financial stability, lack of mechanisms for managing digital deposit accounts, etc. Thus, the main problem lies in the need to create a unified approach to the organization of deposit operations in the digital ruble system, which should take into account technological capabilities, institutional constraints, and economic consequences. The study substantiates the need to develop scientifically based recommendations on the organization of a system of deposit operations within the framework of the digital ruble project, taking into account the interests of all stakeholders and ensuring financial stability. The article proposes a platform architecture for conducting deposit operations with the digital ruble.
