The study is devoted to the analysis of digitalization development in relation to various sectors of the Russian economy. The employment of information and communication technology (ICT) specialists in the ICT sector and in other sectors of the economy is studied. A comparative dynamic analysis of the provision of ICT specialists in various sectors of the economy and in the public sector is conducted. The causes and factors of shortcomings in the development of the ICT sphere are established and measures for the further development of the information industry are proposed. An analysis of the security of industrial enterprises using artificial intelligence technologies in production activities is conducted.
