This paper is devoted to the study of the policy of the Russian Federation in the sphere of ensuring national security since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine. The analysis of the current geopolitical situation has been conducted, which has shown that at the moment a difficult situation is developing in the sphere of ensuring national security due to the joint efforts of Western countries to worsen Russia's position in the geopolitical field. The aspects of the concept of national security are disclosed, its constituent phenomena are described. An assessment of the policy implemented in the Russian Federation to ensure national security is given within the framework of three main aspects: political, economic, military. It is concluded that the current policy to ensure national security corresponds to the current conditions. A number of areas are substantiated, the development of which can further strengthen the national security of the state.
